During April and May 2010
Just two-and-a-half hours flight time from the UK and five hours from New York, Iceland offers an unparalleled combination of snow, wind and 24 hour daylight during the summer months. Imagine all the untracked powder you could wish for and only your friends to share it with on a remote glacier in the Icelandic highlands. Spend a morning snowkiting to the summit at 1350m and then freeride back to basecamp. If you’re after adventure, Iceland is the destination of choice for your next kiting holiday.

Itinarary and Highlights
Friday
Arrive Keflavik and transfer to Reykjavik
Stay at the hotel Leifur Eiriksson and go crazy in Reykjaviks famous downtown.
Saturday
Travel to the Icelandic highlands in our jacked up superjeep, stopping en-route to pick up supplies for the week. Make yourself comfortable in the luxury timber cabins that will be your home for the week, take a walk around, chill out in the hot-tub, crack open a few Gull beers and spark up the barbeque.
Sunday – Thursday
Travel 30 minutes across the barren lower reaches of the glacial gravel fields, crossing rivers of meltwater and ancient lava flows, to reach the footslopes of the 1000 square kilometre Langjökull glacier. Travel up the glacier using our modified jeep to find some fresh powder snow. Launch kites and begin the fun, or help build a dug out snowhouse for preparing lunch in.
Later on return to the cabins, sun-tanned, tired, and very happy. Repeat beer / barbeque / hot-tub sequence.
Friday
Pack up your bags and begin the journey back home, but not before a refreshing stop at the Blue Lagoon.
Essential Info
Spend the first night in the fantastic Hotel Leifur Eiriksson, an intimate 3 star family run hotel in heart of Reykjavik – well located for staggering back after exploring Reykjavik’s famous nightlife.
Out near the glacier you will be staying as part of a group of up to 12 people in two or three timber cabins. The exact type and location of the cabin varies, but generally they consist of 3-shared rooms with bunk accommodation and a large communal living area. The cabins are usually located within 20 – 40 minutes drive from the glacier, and about 1 – 1-½ hours from Reykjavik.
Cabins come equipped with large geo-thermally heated hot-tubs (so don’t forget your trunks!)
The rooms are shared and there is a bathroom to each cabin.
Catering
Think home cooked traditional Icelandic cuisine, barbeques on the terrace or on the glacier, awesome breakfasts, and a packed lunch every day. And all part of the deal!
